Women at the Forefront at Wharton
The Wharton School hosted a first-ever celebration of Women’s Leadership as part of the School’s Alumni Weekend on May 11, 2007.
Roslyn Courtney, leadership expert and coach, Wharton alumna, engaged four notable leaders in an interactive conversation about their distinct leadership. The keynote panel spotlighted the unique approaches of successful women executives at the forefront of business today. Featured leaders were:
- Frances Aldrich Sevilla-Sacasa, President and CEO of US Trust, known for building private banking businesses that deliver value to clients globally. With the completion of Bank of America’s acquisition of US Trust on July 2, Frances became President of US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, the leading private wealth management organization in the US.
- Amanda Bennett, Executive Editor of Bloomberg News, a Pulitzer Prize winner and judge, and past EVP and Editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer. An innovator in journalism, Amanda heads a group of investigative reporters and works globally with 4,000 Bloomberg reporters to identify and develop feature stories, trends and analysis.
- Deborah Fretz, President and CEO, Sunoco Logistics Partners, a publicly traded master limited partnership that acquires, owns and operates a geographically diverse group of crude oil and refined products pipelines, terminals and storage facilities in 11 states, with revenues of $5.8 billion. Before the formation of the new company in 2001, Deborah led three of Sunoco’s seven business units with revenues of $3 billion.
- RoseAnn Rosenthal, President and CEO of Ben Franklin Technology Partners, a not-for-profit economic development organization that promotes economic growth in Southeastern Pennsylvania by fueling innovation, capital investment, entrepreneurship, and the adoption of new technologies.
The discussion continued in breakout sessions with the leaders, followed by a reception.
